Greater support is on its way to Tweed Netball Association (TNA), with a new sponsorship to reduce the cost of its representative program.
The association has partnered with Greater Bank to subsidise travel costs and provide equipment to the program, which sees talented players, umpires, coaches, and management staff compete at the annual Queensland State Age Championships.
The 15s, 16s, and 18s teams wrapped up a hard fought Championships in Brisbane in April while the 12s, 13s and 14s will also travel north for their event at the end of June.
With over 1400 members this year, TNA runs midweek and Saturday competitions and will open a new amenities block later this year to accommodate their growth.
TNA Representative Team Manager Cindy Anderson said that the association aimed to create a program that was accessible to all.
“Going away to rep, it’s not cheap, so we’re always looking for ways to reduce that cost,” Ms Anderson said.
“We want these kids to be able to come and create happy memories, while boosting their physical and mental health.
“When they have this fun and safe place to go they’re fully supported and they achieve wonderful things.”
Greater Bank Regional Sales Manager Scott McCluskey said that helping netballers learn and grow was a great a source of pride.
“Selection into a representative team is a wonderful achievement for a young netballer, and having access to the right equipment and support is an important part of getting the most from that opportunity,” Mr McCluskey said.
“The passion of Tweed Netball Association for their representative teams is fantastic and it’s shared by us at Greater Bank, so we can’t wait to see the juniors shine at State Age later this year.”
