A local not-for-profit club, Gold Medal Gymnastics, has been named the winner of the latest round of Greater Bank’s #GreaterGoldCoast Community Funding Program.
Since opening its doors two years ago, Gold Medal Gymnastics has become home to more than 100 members.
The club has a dedicated team of experienced, passionate coaches and caters to all ages, offering classes for babies through to adults, as well as competitive and private coaching.
Gold Medal Gymnastics President, Bogdan Uruci, said these funds will support the purchase of new equipment for students.
“We are extremely proud of the community we have built at Gold Medal Gymnastics, and we see ourselves as a vehicle for greater learning for the kids - we are creating amazing humans, not just gymnasts,” Mr Uruci said.
“This funding will mean we can purchase more valuable equipment for the kids of the Gold Coast.
“We are working tirelessly to raise funds to purchase almost $200,000 of new equipment in the next twelve months to enhance the experience and skills of the kids we coach.”
Along with purchasing new equipment, Mr Uruci said the club has plans to expand.
“Our work doesn't stop at gymnastics; it continues through the projects we support while leveraging our reach,” he said.
“Along with gymnastics, we are also Club Ambassadors for the Front, an Anti-Bullying in sport campaign as well as a donation point for The Nappy Collective, who arrange nappies for families of the Gold Coast in need.
“We always seek to set a good example for our students and feel that giving back to these causes is part of this example.
“Our club started with just two directors, and we have big visions to grow the club membership to 300 students and to have even more outstanding coaches join us so we can keep teaching kids to work hard and reach for their dreams!”
