Local charity, Baby Give Back, is on track to help thousands of vulnerable babies, children, and families in the Gold Coast community, a mission aided by its success in Greater Bank’s #GreaterGoldCoast Community Funding Program.
Topping the vote count in the August round means Baby Give Back receives $2,000, with monthly runners-up United Disability Care and The Family Centre each receiving $500.
Baby Give Back aims to break the cycle of poverty of disadvantaged and vulnerable families by providing clean, safe, baby essentials. The team sort these essentials and then work with caseworkers and social workers to provide the items to families based on their needs and circumstances.
Nicole Stratigos, Operations Administrator at Baby Give Back, said this funding will have an intergenerational impact of breaking the cycle.
“When we say that every single dollar helps us on our journey of giving vulnerable and disadvantaged children a safe start to life, we truly mean that,” said Ms Stratigos.
“Without community donations and grants like this one, we would not be able to keep our doors open to the thousands of families who rely on us for practical, judgement-free support each year.
“Throughout the year we rely on sponsors and grants to buy equipment, train coaches and umpires, as well as buying awards for the end of year celebrations.
“As we look ahead, our plans involve targeting our support to ensure the families most in need feel the support of our village and a sense of hope for the future.
“We are on track to assist between 8,000 and 10,000 this financial year, providing practical support and the resources they need to give their children a safe and equal start.”
Greater Bank’s #GreaterGoldCoast Community Funding Program was launched in February 2023.
The September round sees a further $3,000 on offer to our monthly nominees, who are Cudgen Public School P&C Association, Gold Coast Multiple Birth Association and Helensvale Scout Group.
