A safer parking project is the priority for Eltham Public School P & C Association following its success in Greater Bank’s #GreaterNorthernRivers Community Funding Program.
Eltham Public School P & C Association receives $2,000 for winning the public vote in the April round of the program, with $500 going to runners up, Bangalow Koalas and Northern Rivers Pickleball Inc.
Eltham Primary School P & C Treasurer, Monique Quinlan, said the P&C strives to support the vibrant learning environment within the Eltham school community.
“Liaising with the dedicated staff, the P&C reinforces the strong community atmosphere that makes Eltham Public school so special for its students,” Monique said.
“No goal is too big or small for the P&Cs fundraising, from books for our avid readers or subsidising swimming lessons to our long-term car parking project, which will be the ambitious focus of this funding.
“The school has no formal parking which presents challenges to families at pick up and drop off. We plan to construct some council-approved parking bays and footpath to improve safety for children, and improve access to the school.
“Grant funding is scarce for capital works projects such as this, so this generous contribution from Greater Bank is a very welcome boost to our efforts to raise the much needed funds.”

Greater Northern Rivers Regional Sales Manager, Scott McCluskey, said road safety around schools is an important issue.
“Having a designated drop off zone with proper parking and a pathway will make a tremendous difference to the families of Eltham Public School,” Scott said.
“I wish the P&C the best with raising the rest of the money to complete this commendable project.”
There’s a further $3,000 on offer in the May round of the program, with East Lismore Community Preschool, Tintenbar East Ballina Football Club and Eltham Community Foundation in the running as our monthly nominees.
