Gunnedah Motorcycle Club is $3,000 better off after topping the vote count in the Greater Bank’s March round of the #GreaterNewEngland Community Funding Program.
The family-focused club plans to use the funds towards upgrading their kids’ playground area.
Based at Balcary Park, Gunnedah Motorcycle Club (GMCC) has been conducting dirt track meetings since the early 1950s and has actively promoted dirt track racing since the early 80s
They currently accommodate Dirt Track and Speedway disciplines with classes for both senior and junior riders, and current boasts junior and adult division Australian and State title holders within its ranks.
Gunnedah Motorcycle Club President, Anthony Dall, said the club has a long and proud history, whose success can be attributed to its strong membership base.
“Our club is full of hard working, enthusiastic and dedicated members which, combined with our loyal supporters, makes the GMCC a very family-friendly successful club.
“We have lots of different events and race meetings at the club, with people all ages attending, including plenty of kids, so we’re planning to upgrade our playground area with soft-fall and new fencing to keep the kids safe from any traffic in the area.

“It’ll cost quite a bit to do this, so we’re very happy to be receiving this contribution towards these works from Greater Bank.”
Also benefiting from this month’s funding round were Tamworth City Swimming Club and Moore Creek Mountain Goats Football Club, receiving $1,000 each as runners-up.
Greater New England Regional Sales Manager, Will Boyd, said the longevity of the club is a testament to Gunnedah and the club’s members.
“Any organisation that’s well supported after 70 years of existence is clearly doing a whole lot of things right,” Will said.
“The club has a real family focus so we’re delighted to be able to help them with their plans for the playground area.”
Another $5,000 is on offer in the April round and our monthly nominees are Tamworth Pride Inc, Olympians Hockey Club and Tamworth Touch Association.
Public online voting is now open at greater.com.au/greaternewengland until 5.00pm Wednesday 26 April, 2023.
