New and upgraded equipment is on the way for the members of Central West Gymsports following its success in Greater Bank’s #GreaterCentralWest Community Funding Program.
Central West Gymsports has won $2,000 for taking out the public vote in the March round, with Eglinton Eels Junior Rugby League Club and Narromine Rescue Squad Inc. each receiving $500 as runners up.
The not-for-profit gymnastics club offers recreational and competitive programs, as well as Sporting Schools programs to schools across the Central West
Central West Gymsports Secretary, Kellie Windiate, said the club provides a safe and fun environment for people of all ages and abilities.
“Programs are designed to be inclusive, allowing our nearly 700 members to get the most out of our programs which are delivered by our qualified and passionate coaching team.
“We run a Junior coaching mentor program which allows our upcoming coaches to learn and become the best coaches possible.
“We have also been nominated for several Gymnastics NSW awards - 2022 Large club of the year, 2022 Trampoline Club of the year, 2022 Trampoline levels coaching team of the year and will also be receiving a club membership award.
“This funding will enable us to update and upgrade the equipment we use across our programs, which cater for people from as young as 12 months through to adults.
“We’d like to thank Greater Bank for this contribution as it allows us to bring forward some of those purchases, delivering a better experience for our members.”
Greater Bank’s Central West Regional Sales Manager, Will Boyd, said it’s great to see programs like those offered by Gymsports Central West.
“This gives kids the chance to take part in activities that are a bit different from the usual team sports, and enables them to develop skills that can benefit them in other areas,” Will said.
“Anything that gets kids interested in sport and physical activity is a big plus, so we’re pleased to be able to support Gymsports in their endeavours.”
There’s a further $3,000 on offer for the April round of the program, with Dubbo Community Men's Shed, Quota Bathurst and the Dubbo and District Hear our Heart Ear Bus Project in the running as the monthly nominees
The public online vote is now open until 5.00pm Wednesday 26 April, 2023 at greater.com.au/greatercentralwest.
