Love for Lismore HeART Space can operate for an entire month thanks to its success in the February round of the #GreaterNorthernRivers Community Funding Program.
Love for Lismore HeART Space Incorporated receives $2,000 for winning the public vote, with $500 each going to monthly runners-up Eltham Sport and Recreation Committee Incorporated and the Association of Veteran Surfers Ballina Byron Inc.
Love for Lismore HeART Space Co-Founders, Jodi Dynan and Rebecca Ryan, said the city continues to suffer more than 12 months on from the devastating floods of 2022.
“The Love for Lismore HeART Space is a creative community hub designed to aid in grass roots post flood recovery,” Jodi said.
“We began by rallying volunteers to sew 2022 flood banners. From that we have grown into a large community space in the Lismore CBD that provides a place to sew, craft, connect and heal, as well as being a craft op shop where individuals can replenish much needed supplies at no cost.

“It’s also a meeting and workshop space in addition to being home to the iconic heart banners.
“We are currently funded completely by donations, so this money from Greater Bank is extremely welcome as it will cover our running costs for a month, enabling us to continue to provide workshops and other activities for the community.”
Greater Northern Rivers Regional Sales Manager, Scott McCluskey, said the people of Lismore deserve all the support we can give them.
“While it’s inspiring to see the resilience and community spirit of Lismore residents, we know that many people are still dealing with the consequences of the devastating floods of last year,” Scott said.
“That makes the role of organisations like Love for Lismore HeART Space all the more important as that healing process continues, so we are very proud to be able to help them continue their vital work.”
We have another $3,000 on offer in the March round, with Jumbunna Community Preschool and Early Intervention Centre (Casino), Australian Seabird & Turtle Rescue - Ballina Byron Sea Turtle Hospital and the Ballina Little Athletics Club our monthly nominees.
The public online vote is now open until 5.00pm Wednesday 29 March, 2023 at www.greater.com.au/greaternorthernrivers.
