Training equipment for up and coming swimmers and new flags for the pool are top of the list for Manildra Swimming Club after its win in the #GreaterCentralWest Community Funding Program.
That success means the club receives $2,000, with monthly runners-up, Tradies In Sight Incorporated (Dubbo), and Mitchell Conservatorium Inc (Bathurst Chamber Orchestra) each receiving $500.
Manildra Swimming Club Treasurer Renae Allcorn said the club is not solely focused on swimming.
“We are a dedicated team that offers an initiative swimming program, enabling development of children’s skills in and out of the pool,” Renae said.
“These skills enable our members to overcome any obstacles in life, live with passion and purpose and to reach the peak of their potential.
“Our club is for many ages and abilities and all our coaches are volunteers and do their training and accreditation off their own bat.
“There are many expenses connected with running the club and we rely on our own fundraising events to cover these costs, so this contribution from Greater Bank is very welcome.
“It will enable us to replace our tired and worn flags, as well as updating training equipment like kickboards, paddles, fins and goggles.”

Greater Bank’s Central West Regional Sales Manager, Will Boyd, said swimming is an important life skill.
“Water safety is a critical issue across Australia, so it’s very important for kids to learn how to swim,” Will said.
“I love the approach of the Manildra Swimming Club in using their programs to not only teach kids to swim but also how to apply those skills and abilities to other areas of their lives.”
We have another $3,000 on offer in our February round, with South Dubbo Wanderers, Orange CYMS JRLFC and Central West Riders SMC in the running as our monthly nominees.
The public online vote is now open until 5.00pm Wednesday March 1, 2023 at greater.com.au/greatercentralwest.
