A much-needed cash injection courtesy of Greater Bank’s the #GreaterMidNorthCoast Community Funding Program will help Happy Paws Haven cover the cost of never-ending food and vet bills.
The Grafton-based Happy Paws Haven Inc has received $2,000 for taking out the September round, with monthly runners-up - Handmade on the Manning and Great Lakes Art Society – each receiving $500.
Happy Paws Haven Founder, Sally Rogers, said the welfare of all animals in their care is paramount.
“We commit to every animal in our care, and never euthanise a sociable, healthy or treatable companion animal whatever their age,” Sally said.
“Our mission is to give them a haven until we find them a permanent home, no matter how long that takes.

“We are an essential part of the community, working with schools and colleges, volunteers, families in crisis, community service, and providing work experience to educate the community about responsible pet ownership.
“We rely on adoptions and donations, which have been down of late, to give the best care for the animals, which makes this funding from Greater Bank not only critical but also very much appreciated.”
Greater Bank’s Mid North Coast Regional Sales Manager, Jennifer Smith, said caring for animals is an important job.
“Pet owners are sometimes forced to give up their animals for a range of reasons beyond their control, which is where organisations like Happy Paws Haven come in,” Jennifer said.
“Their ethos of working to find a forever home for the animals in their care is most admirable and we are proud to support their efforts.”
The October round nominees have been confirmed, with The Cundletown Museum, Camp Quality Port Macquarie and Prosper Coffs Harbour Cultural Trust to share in $3,000 in monthly funding.
