Families of children being treated in Grafton Base Hospital will be able to find a meal at any time of the day or night following Kids in Capes windfall from Greater Bank’s #GreaterMidNorthCoast Community Funding Program.
Kids in Capes has received $2,000 for winning the public vote in the August round, with $500 each going to our monthly runners up Taree Little Athletics and Mid North Coast Barrel Racing & Horse Sports Club.
Kids in Capes is a not-for-profit based in the Clarence Valley that aims to create awareness of children living with disabilities and additional needs within the Clarence Valley. They also support families and fundraising for the Grafton Base Children and Adolescents’ Ward.
Zoe Goodsell, Director at Kids in Capes, said the funding will go directly towards help families in the region.
“This support from the Greater will help us to subscribe to a food delivery service so parents and carers supporting kids being treated at Grafton Base Hospital can access a nutritious meal,” Zoe said.
“This is really important, as they need to be well and healthy to be able to best support their child through what is inevitably a difficult and stressful time.

“The subscription will allow us to have meals in the freezer for people who need to eat something satisfying at whatever time of day they need it.
“Our principal fundraising is done through an annual calendar, so we are very thankful to the Greater as this money will significantly boost our coffers.”
Greater Bank’s Mid North Coast Regional Sales Manager, Jennifer Smith, said dealing with a sick child is difficult enough, without having to worry about other factors.
“Kids become ill at all hours of the day and night, so having access to good food when you need it is a great outcome,” Jennifer said.
“We are delighted to support Kids in Capes with this initiative that will help families with sick children from across the region.”
There’s another $3,000 to be shared among our September nominees, who are Handmade on the Manning, Happy Paws Haven Inc and Great Lakes Art Society Inc.
Our public online vote opens at 9.00am on Monday September 5 until 5.00pm Wednesday September 28 2022 at www.greater.com.au/greatermidnorthcoast.
