Jets land in regional NSW

Football fans from across the Coffs Coast had the chance to meet some of the stars of Newcastle Jets A-League Men’s teams when they visited the region in August in the lead up to the 2022/23 season.

The visit was part of the club’s commitment to support and connect with fans in regional NSW, which is central to the newly extended Major Community Partnership with Greater Bank.

Greater Bank first linked with the A-League club in 2015 and the sponsorship renewal will extend the partnership through to the end of the 2023/24 season.

While Head Coach, Arthur Papas, used the visit to continue the teams on-field preparations in the lead up to the A-League season, it was also an opportunity to visit a number of local primary schools and conduct a Jets:PLAY coaching clinic for aspiring young footballers.

Newcastle Jets’ Executive Chairman, Shane Mattiske, said that connecting with communities and football fans across Northern NSW was a priority for the club and its partnership with Greater Bank.

“Greater Bank is one of the Jets’ longest standing partners and it is great to know that they are continuing to support the community through football and a connection to the club,” Mr Mattiske said.

“Importantly, Greater Bank is a great partner for the Jets, with respect to their focus on engaging with, and giving back to, the broader football community."

“The trip to Coffs Harbour provided Arthur the opportunity to bring the players together in the lead up to the season, but also a way for us to connect with Newcastle Jets fans who may not otherwise have the chance to engage with their favourite players up close.”

Greater Bank’s Head of Marketing, Ingrid Kaczor, said they are thoroughly looking forward to continuing the partnership with the club over the next two seasons.

“Since 2015, we have achieved some great outcomes through the delivery of our community programs that have created tangible connections between the club and community, as well as driven greater engagement with Newcastle Jets and broader football fans.

“Greater Bank and the Newcastle Jets not only share a common desire to support the communities that support us, but also a common footprint that runs through regional NSW,” Ms Kaczor said.

“It’s fantastic to see the club visiting regional areas and connect with these important and very passionate communities through a mutual love of football.

“We look forward to continuing to build on these connections over the coming two seasons.”
