A funding boost from Greater Banks #GreaterNewEngland Community Funding Program will assist St Mary’s Preschool North Tamworth upgrade facilities, something they have been unable to undertake due to COVID-19 restrictions.
St Mary’s Preschool North Tamworth has received $3,000 after taking out the public vote in the June round of the program. Our runners up, Quirindi and District Historical Society and New England Wigs and Headwear, have both received $1,000.
St Marys Preschool Manager Marilyn Sandell said they were continually looking to improve the centre’s services and facilities, believing all kids deserve a great start to their early learning.
“St Mary’s North Tamworth Preschool is a small, friendly, community-based preschool that has been operating since 1991,” Marilyn said.
“We foster strong relationships between families and teachers to ensure a caring, respectful and trusted preschool community.
“St Mary’s Preschool encourages parent participation and open communication and is committed to providing experiences that reflect acceptance through the curriculum.
“This funding from Greater Bank will go towards revamping our sandpit area and the garden around it, which is where we host all our community events, including fundraisers, which we have not been able to hold over the past couple of years due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“We can’t thank Greater Bank enough for their support through the Community Funding Program.”

Now in sixth year, the #GreaterNewEngland program reached the milestone of $350,000 in giving this June, which has supported 210 New England-based charities and community groups since its inception in September 2016.
Greater New England Regional Sales Manager, Will Boyd, said the milestone is something that he and his New England-based staff are incredibly proud of.
“Supporting the community that supports us has long been a pillar of Greater Bank’s business and was the foundation of establishing the Community Funding Program,” Will said.
“We’ve all taken great delight over the past six years in seeing the impact these contributions have made to those who have received them.
“Community groups, be they sporting clubs, schools, charities and support groups, have used this funding to improve their facilities, innovate the way they deliver their programs or even expand their services to support a new or specific need in the community.
“We’re incredibly proud of this program and look forward to seeing more community groups from the New England benefit.”
