Football fanatics and sports fans from around the world will descend on Sydney’s Accor Stadium on Sunday, 20 August when the finest female footballers do battle in the final of FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
Among them will be Greater Bank customers, Brad Fardell and Shane Wilson, winners of the VISA Pay Your Way to the Women’s World Cup Final competition.
By simply using their Greater Bank Visa card during the promotional period, the Hunter pair have won tickets for them and a guest to the final of the global sporting event, as well as airfares and accommodation.
Brad from Cardiff is a lifelong football fan, and couldn’t believe his luck when informed of his win.

“I’m a big fan of Premier League team, Everton, and was in the crowd at Accor Stadium last year when they played Celtic. The atmosphere that day was amazing so I can’t begin to imagine how much better it will be at the Women’s World Cup Final.
“I’ve already had plenty of family and friends putting their hand up for the second ticket, including my grandkids who play football locally, but I’ll be taking my partner Sandra. We are so thankful for this prize and can’t wait to be part of a piece of sporting history.”
Shane from Cessnock loves his sport and a big fan of all football codes. Being in the crowd at a World Cup final is something he never considered a reality.
“I entered the competition hoping I’d win, but never really thought I was a hope and forgot all about it to be honest. When I got the call to say I’d won, I couldn’t believe it,” Shane said.
“I’ve been to an NRL Grand Final in Sydney but a World Cup final will be something else.
“I really enjoy the football and support the Newcastle Jets locally.
"I also followed the Matildas through their last World Cup campaign and think they’re a real chance this time around.
“There’d be nothing better the watching them live at a World Cup final in Australia. I can’t believe that I’ve got my seats to the final. Fingers crossed the Aussie girls will win their way through to the decider as well.”

To enter the competition, customers had to perform five Visa Transactions on a Greater Bank Visa card held in their name between 8 May 2023 and 16 June 2023, and complete the online entry form. The winners were then randomly selected from a pool of eligible entries.
