This planting aimed to stabilise the river bank and reintroduce rainforest plant species. Greater Bank donated 5,000 plants!
Sustaining the Williams Valley Community Group planted 5,000 trees, shrubs and ground cover plants as an extension to the Weeping Lilly Pilly Riparian Rainforest Restoration Project on the bank of the Williams River at Frank Robinson Park. The native habitat improvement works provided much needed vegetation for native fauna species along the rail and road corridors bordering Fran Robinson Park. Consultation with RMS, ARTC, Dungog Shire Council, and the Hunter Region Landcare Network took place to make this project happen.
Sample species planted: Callistemon sieberi, Trema tomentosa, Melia azederach, Acacia parvipinnula, Lomandra longifolia (Mat-rush), Mixed low growing and creeping plants such as grevillea, hardenbergia, hibbertia.
